Escape From Spiderhead

I adore George Saunders.

His writing combines dystopian dread and optimistic whimsy in a way that at first seems incongruent, but then somehow magically melds while at the same time speaking about our shared frailty and humanity as a species.

All of his story collections are incredible, but the one this particular story is featured in, Tenth of December, is my favorite of the bunch.

Here’s hoping they do a good job adapting his hilarious and harrowing tale.
